Wisdom of Life – dialogue and sharing circle

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,

a time to tear down and a time to build…  (Ecclesiastes)

Dear friend,

We invite you to join us in the Circle.

It is time to meet. Time to gather and bring together our fullest beings. Time to connect to self, to each other and to nature in significant ways.

This is a special circle. We invited two dear friends to facilitate it and share their presence and wisdom. Sue Davidoff and Allan Kaplan will be visiting us for a couple of days, so we happily invite you to meet them and spend some time together.

This program is addressed to people who are engaged in some form of social work, dealing with complexities and practices of reconnection, catalysing social transformation and emergence. People who have developed or are developing a practice in this field. Innovators, changemakers, healers, educators, peace workers, social practitioners.

We would like to explore and share:

  • How we feel in the world today, with quick changes emerging at all levels of life. What are the ways in which we deal with complex transformation.
  • Where we stand in relation to ourselves. How do we navigate our inner landscape.
  • What enables us to feel balanced and authentic. How we heal and regenerate our creative energy.
  • How do we connect to nature and the wide network we are all part of.
  • The manifestation of masculine and feminine energies, in the self and in relation to one another.
  • How we engage with social change and what informs, what nurtures the way we work. How do we honor relationships and invite structural and cultural transformation.

Sue Davidoff and Allan Kaplan come from South Africa,  having worked in many countries around the world, in the field of development. Years ago, they founded Proteus Initiative, a framework that integrates all aspects of social change: consulting, facilitating, writing, teaching. They strive to bring together a sensibility for, understanding of and practice towards the relationship between ecological wholeness and social coherence and healing. Enabling people to stretch their processes of inner and outer development to greater edges and depths; this is the foundation for socially responsible and life-supporting practices.

Allan-Kaplan-Sue-Davidoff

„We live in a complex world; a world of ambiguity and uncertainty. Every time we act within a social context, we are confronted with this unpredictability, ambiguity and uncertainty. A conventional response to this is to try to simplify it. We strive to reduce complexity, in order to better manage our world. Such a response seeks to control life, not to enhance it. But our very attempts to ‘manage’ in these ways create the ‘problems’ which then appear to overwhelm us. If we hold the idea before us that we are not primarily concerned with making the world manageable, but making it more visible, more meaningful, we offer a more open and interested gaze into the world. It is our seeing through into the heart of things that enhances our social reality, and enables it – and us – to remain creative and alive.”

Your hosts will be Sabin Mureșan and Ioana Lucaciu, who are currently working along with their friends to develop La Gugu, a centre for regeneration and reconnection located in Pădurea Craiului Mountains, Bihor County.
